Cover files by edition
The generator on this page makes the ebook front cover. Paperback, hardcover, and audiobook editions need different files — not a stretched or resized version of the same image.

What you make here
A vertical front cover for Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, and other ebook stores. Start from your title, genre, and style, then download the front-only image.

Print is not a resized ebook. A paperback or hardcover needs the front, spine, and back in one layout, sized to the trim, page count, and paper.

A different file
Don't stretch the ebook into a square. Audible and ACX need a true 2400 × 2400 cover that keeps the title readable.

What our customers are saying
Didn't expect it to be this easy. I just typed in my title and boom, cover done. saved me like $50 on fiverr.
Honestly I was skeptical about AI but the results are actually legit. The resolution is perfect for KDP, no issues uploading.
fast. simple. love it.
I've published 5 books this year and used this tool for all of them. The consistency is great and it handles the text placement way better than I could.
My cover looks pro.
Was struggling with the 1.6:1 ratio thing for hours until I found this. It just works. Highly recommend for any indie author starting out.

40 credits that never expire. A Draft generation costs 1 credit, a Best Quality one 3 credits, and a print-ready paperback or hardcover PDF download 30. That's enough for up to 10 Draft generations plus one print-ready file, all without a watermark.
Every cover is generated new for your book, and each image has a real cost. The $3.99 Starter pack gives you clean files you can publish. If you haven't used any credits from that pack, you can get a full refund within 14 days.
Yes, if you ask within 14 days of purchase and haven't used any credits from that pack. Failed generations are never charged.
Not directly. An eBook cover is a front-only portrait image made to the target ebook store's requirements (ratio, pixels, format), while a print front cover is the front panel of a print cover, made to the trim ratio and print resolution. Same name, different image specs — the eBook cover can only be reused as front-panel material and must be reworked for print.
It may be accepted, but as-is it's not made to ebook specs. A print front panel follows the trim ratio (6×9 ≈ 1:1.5), while ebook stores suggest their own (KDP 1.6:1, Kobo 3:4). Re-export it as a clean front-only image to the target store's requirements to use it as an eBook cover.
Yes. You can use covers you download for your own book publishing, sales listings, and promotion. BookCoverAI does not claim ownership of those downloads.
Unlike general design tools that require you to manually assemble stock photos, our AI cover maker starts a fresh cover direction from your story's plot or mood. No design skills are needed to get a professional result.
The generator includes genre and style presets for common book categories, including romance, fantasy, cookbook, children's books, comics, sci-fi, poetry, mystery, and business books.
